The online teaching style is moderately different than what you would receive in a traditional classroom. Online learning will involve a lot of reading materials. In a learner-focused environment you will have to rely on the distribution of information you receive during your course to be your guide.

Communication
Communication is the key to success in an online education. You will have to be clear about what you do not understand and ask for help when you need it. Your online instructor is there to help you with anything you are having a problem with. General questions about the course regarding things like exams should also be directed to your instructor.

Managing Your Time
Because you will be setting your own hours for learning, you should try to arrange a schedule that fits your lifestyle needs and stick to it.

  • Don't take a backseat. You are an essential part of the online interaction that is necessary in most courses. Sharing your comments and participating will help you to become a contributing member of the class.
  • Always look over your work before pressing the send button. Once your work has been sent off it is gone!
