Career Counseling

Ever since you were a little kid people have been asking you what you are going to be when you grow up. For a while it was a ballerina or maybe a fireman, but now that you are grown up (or almost!) maybe it’s time to examine other career choices.

What Career Counseling can do for you

You may have a lot of questions regarding possible career paths. Questions like: How do I know what to major in? How will I know what to do with my degree? How do you write a really good resume? Career Counseling can help you answer all of these questions and many more. You may have already identified several career options that appeal to you but you are uncertain as to which path is best to follow in order to fully realize your dream job. Again, Career Counseling can point you in the right direction.

Even if you have no idea what you want to do with your life and are feeling overwhelmed and unfocused, Career Counseling can set you on the right track. Counselors can help you identify your skills and show you how to further develop them. They will also help you establish your interests, even those you may not have had a chance to explore yet. Another aspect of Career Counseling consists of identifying obstacles in your path thereby allowing you to seek alternative routes around them before they threaten to overwhelm you.

Where you can get Career Counseling

Most universities offer Career Counseling as a free service to their students. There are many websites that can help you find a Career Counselor as well, such as www.resumesolutions.ca. You can also find one by looking under counselors in the yellow pages.
